Who is the Best Queen Tribute Band In The U.K?
Updated: May 5, 2020
Queen. One of the most iconic and musically talented bands in the history of rock. Their unique stage chemistry and juxtaposed styles made for a band that produced music that will always stand that most hardened test, the test of time.
Despite the death of their unique Front-man, Freddie Mercury, in 1991, who was let's face it, probably the best the world has ever seen, their music has continued to endure and grow. Even today their music is still entertaining armies of fans across the world with charged classic rock anthems that simply remain unmatched to this day.
It's no easy task to try and recreate the energy, stage presence and music of Queen. Yet there are small number of brave souls who tackle this job, week in and week out entertaining crowds across the U.K with their own renditions of Queen's music.
Not only is this musically challenging, but to portray Freddies "Mercuryisms" for extended periods with any authenticity is a physical feat in itself. To grip the neck of the guitar in flashing lights and dripping sweat, but still create something similar to the finger twisting licks of Brian May is a marvel and to recreate the solid, melodic bass lines of John Deacon or the thumping mastery of Roger Taylor is a challenge to even the most musically talented.
Queen were and are anything but a normal band. Their costumes and sound set up alone require hours of dedication to even come close to recreating that magical tone from for example the Wembley 1986 set!
So a big commendation to anybody involved in the Queen Tribute scene. You have the very greatest of my respect.
There are a number of Queen Tribute Bands working across the U.K.
If you get the opportunity then you should check out Queen One Vision - A Tribute To Queen. Founded in 2017, you'll catch them across the U.K, and frequently in North West England being based in Liverpool, U.K.
Fast becoming a favourite in the U.K festival scene, they have played to packed out audiences in some of the best music venues across the country and supported top names including Number One selling album Indie Rock band Scouting For Girls.
Fronted by Eddie Devlin as the great Freddie Mercury, they are musically excellent with a great energy to their performances with all songs performed in the original keys. Eddie is a veteran of the music scene and has been performing live for over 30 years.
The guitars are looked after by Brian May Guitars Endorsed Tribute Artist Les Norton. Les has been playing guitars for over 30 years in various cover and original material bands and has placed significant attention to detail in recreating Brian May's tone as closely as possible.
John's Deacon's bass-lines are performed meticulously by Dave Davis, who has a wealth of live performance and musical experience gained over many decades, the same being true for Dennis Price who takes on the task recreating Roger Taylor's drumming prowess. Dennis is a true professional with skills to match!
Look out for them as they undertake a U.K tour in late 2020 and a U.K theatre tour in 2021.

Thanks for last night, everyone thought you were brilliant!!
It was an honour to see you a few weeks back at Shepperton. I may only have been 6.5 when the great man left this world and my sister only 4, but we have been lifelong fans. You blew us away with your Freddieisms and I think he would have liked to meet you himself. Keep up the great work and please let us know if you are ever back in the Surrey area.
